Artist Bio
Marwa*Marie (Erica Marwa Marie Mohamed) was born on May 23 in a small rural town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Her unique and exotic ethnic mix of Egyptian and Italian, gave her the ability to experience and appreciate the contrast of two totally different cultures. On the flip side, Marwa had many struggles in her life between growing up in an abuse environment to experiencing racial profiling, personal battles, and poverty. She always knew that she wanted success, happiness, and so much more out of life for her and her family. Her deep desire at a young age of one day becoming an artist and touching the lives of many, lead Marwa to tap into all her creative abilities. Her early love and passion for music along with writing, fashion, cosmetology, drawing, painting, and design made it very evident that she had an array of talents that had to be showcased, and put to the test.
Music is a way for Marwa to escape the harsh ways of the world and to convey messages and reach out to other people who are going through rough times. She uses music to release her happiness, pain, and life experiences. Her ultimate goal is utilize all her talents to the fullest while inspiring and uplifting her audience and share her story with the world, "I use my blessings and my gift of voice to let everyone know, no matter where you came from or what back ground you may be, you can overcome any obstacle and turn any weakness into a strength" - Marwa*Marie
As time went on, and her ability to sing and write songs quickly developed. She established that she wanted to become a singer/songwriter and decided to pursue a career in music. She took her career in her own hands and started recording her own material and featuring on local underground artists songs. As she got more comfortable recording and working with other artists, Marwa decided to go even further and seek professional vocal training. She began to work with celebrity vocal coaches, Ankh Ra, from P Diddy's "Making the Band" and Craig Derry who has worked with super stars like Ashanti, D'Angelo, and Mary J. Blige. From that point on because of her dedication, constant practice, and training she was able to unlock her true voice and confidence that would drive and push her even closer to her dream of becoming a star.
After two years of searching for the right music team to support and back her dream, Marwa finally found what she was looking for. She is now a very important piece to a multi-media, rapidly growing Independent Record label called Melodream Entertainment. Marwa and the CEO of Melodream Entertainment, Michael Walker work side by side on many upcoming projects and performances. Shortly after joining Melodream Entertainment, Marwa has worked with people such as multi platinum recording artist MIMS, Michael Walker, and Chase Baker. She is currently working towards her album and her first single entitled "No Games". Since Marwa was drawn to and influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson, R Kelly, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, and many others, this inspired her to take on a wide range of singing genres. Her strong love and respect for all kinds of music is what inspires her to work with artists like Akon, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Trey Songs, Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Chrisette Michelle, and Missy Elliot. She is excited and ready to get out into the industry and show the world her talent.
